AB0008 ROLE OF IL-23/TH17 AXIS CYTOKINES IN RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

چکیده
Background Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune inflammatory driven by cascade of different cytokine families. IL-23/Th17 axis (IL-23, IL-17) has been studied as a key pathway for disease development and its association with severity, joint erosion functional outcome [1], but the data supplementing to support hypothesis lacking conflicting. Also, there paucity on role IL-23/Th17/IL-17 cytokines in Indian subset patients. Objectives The objective was find correlation between serum (IL-17, IL-23) clinical parameters patients, e.g., activity (DAS28) status. Methods This cross-sectional observational study conducted General Medicine OPD from 2021 2022. ACR/EULAR 2010 classification criteria used diagnose RA. Eighty-four consecutive RA patients were recruited after taking consent. Serum IL-17 IL-23 levels measured ELISA method. Clinical laboratory parameters, DAS28-ESR, HAQII recorded. Data analyzed compare subgroups. Results showed higher proportion females than males (n=76,90.5% vs n=8,9.5%). 14.28%(n=12) cases elderly 90.5% cDMARDs, whereas 48.8% (n=41) steroid users. Majority cases, 57.14% (n=48) had high activity, 25% (n=21) moderate activity. Cases achieved remission 5.95%. median value 103.72 pg/ml (IQR=39.91-524.13) 981.87 (IQR=793.25-1205.0), respectively. Swollen count, not tender correlated positively both ( r s =0.229, p=0.036; =0.098, p=0.016, respectively). Among marker, only CRP =0.269, p=0.014). Both insignificant, weak positive DAS28 =0.183, p=0.097 & =0.125, p=0.259), There no difference among severity group (p=0.130 p=0.215). It also noted that =0.221, p=0.044). cytokines, shown statistically status (HAQII) =0.284, p=0.009). level differed significantly (p=0.013). advanced early (p=0.028). Neither nor any subgroup age (younger RA), obesity (obese nonobese), DMARDs or (user naïve), serology (RF+ RF- CCP+ CCP-). Conclusion compared swollen count. Only directly correlating weak, insignificant classes. Even cDMARD/steroid use did affect level. receptor activation triggers transformations acute synovitis chronic persistent [2]. IL-23/IL-17 may be factor advanced/erosive develoment, which need further research. Hence, blocking at stage diminish retard progression disease. References [1]Lubberts E. IL-23-IL-17 arthritis. [IL-1Ra: its role in rheumatoid arthritis].
Interleukin-1 (IL-1) is one of the pivotal cytokines in initiating and driving the processes of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and the body's natural response, IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra), has been shown conclusively to block its effects. IL-1 mediate several clinical symptoms of the inflammatory reaction (i.e. fever, pain, sleep disturbances). IL-1 is considered a key mediator in RA joint da...
متن کاملExpression of IGF-1, IL-27 and IL-35 Receptors in Adjuvant Induced Rheumatoid Arthritis Model
Background: IGF-1 and certain other cytokines have been shown to exert inflammatory/anti-inflammatory roles in chronic joint diseases. Objective: To assess the effect of IGF-1, IL-27 and IL-35, their interaction and their receptor expression in a rheumatoid arthritis model. Methods: Freund’s adjuvant-induced chronic joint inflammation was operated on 160 male rats. Animals were divided into his...
متن کاملThe Relationship of Cytokines IL-13 and IL-17 with Autoantibodies Profile in Early Rheumatoid Arthritis
Aims. In the present study, we aimed to assess the concentrations of IL-13 and IL-17 in serum of patients with early rheumatoid arthritis (eRA), the investigation of correlation between the concentrations of these cytokines and disease activity score, and the concentration of some autoantibodies and the evaluation of the utility of IL-13 and -17 concentration measurements as markers of disease ...
متن کاملEvidence that cytokines play a role in rheumatoid arthritis.
A large number of cytokines are active in the joints of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It is now clear that these cytokines play a fundamental role in the processes that cause inflammation, articular destruction, and the comorbidities associated with RA. Following the success of TNF-alpha blockade as a treatment for RA, other cytokines now offer alternative targets for therapeutic int...

R arthritis (RA) is a chronic recurrent, systemic inflammatory disease primarily involving the synovial membranes of multiple joints, followed by cartilage and bone destruction, which eventually leads to joint deformities and loss of articular functions.1 The clinical course of the disorder is extremely variable, ranging from mild, selflimiting arthritis to rapidly progressive multi-system infl...
